The Idea
The safari guide's course where I met Jonathan was designed to inspire students to share knowledge about African nature in their own countries, to advocate for African wildlife. And I do this out of love for… elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, leopards, hyenas, drongos, and colorful bee-eaters, plus all the rest of sensual experience.
I'm excited to combine my passion for savanna wildlife with psychology. With those in mind who truly want to feel the bush, smell wild sage and elephant dung, who want to get goosebumps listening to a territorial lion's roar right beside them, and see themselves in a new light – in a collision with nature that can be dangerous – I created the BUSH BONDS project.
The inspiration for this project at first came from strong feeling how my safari adventure made me stronger and happier as a woman. I wanted to share it with woman only, to empower them to explore and maybe as I did dream big.
But after a while all this crisis of masculinity that we are observing inspired me to think about boys which need to see fathers in challenging settings and to create special bonds with them based on exclusive experience they may share. I wanted to create a project where fathers and sons can immerse themselves in something that will be a test of skills, a chance to get to know each other, and to create fantastic shared memories.
Bush Bonds aims to give you an opportunity to show your true selves. In a beautiful, demanding but safe place, where you have to trust the guide, submit to different rules, where father and son will face the same challenges and stressors, you'll have the chance to forge a different bond and build memories that will be uniquely yours.
But I haven't forgotten my own feminine path either. Bush expeditions have developed my resilience and removed my limitations. That's why I also invite women to the Bush Bond Woman camp (in separate purely woman groups). For you, the program will also have feminine touches (visit to an elephant orphanage and, for those interested, the chance to get real African braids). But the main goal is to nourish the wild woman within us, the woman who can do anything.
Bush Bonds Camp
Savanna Safari Camp for Fathers and Sons, Women, Management Teams and Anyone Wanting to Immerse in a Bush Camp Safari Adventure
This unique 10-day adventure in the African bush offers much more than just an exciting trip. It's designed to create opportunities for participants, fathers and sons to experience something beyond the reach of civilization and the watchful eye of mom, to make memories, cultivate resilience, and equip them with invaluable life skills like cooperation, closed-loop communication, and situational awareness.
By immersing yourselves in the untamed beauty of the African bush and participating in carefully selected activities and optional workshops (you know how teens are), fathers and sons will return home not only with incredible stories but also with a strengthened bond, increased personal resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
Walking safaris are not allowed for teens under 15, so please note that if you bring a son between 12-15 years old, they can only participate in game drives (which are still a lot of fun).
Building Bonds with Your Son
How African Bush Experiences Will Strengthen Your Connection
Escape Distractions
You'll get away from screens, schedules, and responsibilities. Wi-Fi at the camp is limited to a few hours a day, and there's no signal at all during safaris.
Immerse Yourselves in Nature
Imagine tracking wild animals on foot, lighting a campfire on the savanna, and gazing at the unpolluted African sky, with our galactic home – the Milky Way – clearly visible.
Physical and Emotional Challenges
The anxiety of a completely unknown environment, fatigue, surprises, and successes in the bush will create your shared narrative. These moments will become your story, and your son will have something impressive to share on dates!
Learn from Each Other
You'll discover how you both cope and what your strengths are. You'll gain a unique, unforgettable experience.
Develop Key Skills
Training with a tracker, shared decision-making, and developing situational awareness will help your son develop crucial teamwork skills (decisions on bush walks, navigation, mechanics). Fathers will gain insight into their sons' developing independence and capabilities.
Increased Strength and Resilience
From learning survival skills like fire-starting and identifying edible bush plants, to mastering basic car mechanics and shooting range skills, participants will acquire tangible abilities that will boost their self-efficacy and confidence.
Mental Fortitude & Practical Skills
The Mental Fortitude program is our speciality. It directly addresses managing emotions in stressful situations. It teaches strategies for coping with fear and frustration, and for maintaining a positive attitude in the face of adversity.
After each safari expeditions, there will be daily debriefs with a psychologist (we don't force anyone, especially teenagers – but maybe they'll be tempted 😊). These sessions will cover the basics of self-observation and stress self-regulation that we utilize in the bush, from sleep hygiene to managing stress and frustration. You'll learn, alongside your children, how to delay emotional reactions and effectively influence heart rate and breathing to quickly calm anxiety, fear, anger, and aversion. Bush walks are excellent opportunity to experience those new skills in real.
The unpredictable nature of the bush teaches flexibility and quick thinking, fostering an adaptive mindset that translates into daily life.
Bushcraft & Survival
Fundamental skills like navigation, tracking, recognising basic edible fruits and plants and fire-starting build competence and self-reliance in any outdoor conditions.
Basic Mechanics
Understanding how a 4x4 vehicle works and simple troubleshooting gives both fathers and sons practical, real-world knowledge.
Optional Shooting (Safety & Discipline)
Learning precision and discipline through controlled shooting activities (rifle) teaches focus and responsible equipment handling.
Communication Skills:
Listening&Observation
Bush walks offer a unique opportunity to "read" animals. By learning to decode animal behavior, we become more sensitive to human non-verbal communication and understand the origins of our human behaviors. But situational awareness includes observing each other for clues of tension, tiredness or fear which impacts decision taking on the walks
Clear Instructions & Feedback
Activities require trust and reliance on trainers, which, in turn, teaches how closed-loop communication increases understanding and safety.
Decision-Making
Walks with expert trackers, brainstorming about animal tracks and behaviors, will help master democratic decision-making and expose sons to mistakes in a safe environment, guided by impartial trainers. This is an opportunity to learn courage, be exposed to failures, and manage social anxieties.

Why Choose Us
Group Size
If you have ever been to other african coutries on typical safari you know how crowded it is and cars are often not open land cruisers, so visibility is poor.
We guarantee maximum of 6 people in an open safari vehicle.
We do care about silience in a car, so animals are not disturbed and do their own choirs.
Guide Expertise
On regular tours, you're not always led by nature guides, but rather by general tour guides who aren't certified and whose knowledge sometimes is not up to date.
With us, you'll gain first-hand knowledge and understanding of animal behavior from specialists certified by FGASA – the agency that authorizes professional guides.
Animal Sightings
On regular safaris, time spent in many locations doesn't guarantee you'll see animals.
With us, you can share moments with animals that behave naturally. Knowing our local herds, we know where to track them – because we also have the best trackers from Botswana on our team.
We care about rules so we try not to impact animals behaviors so you can trully enjoy they natural behviors.
Camp Experience
Many expensive camps offer hotel-like comfort and plenty of free time by the pool, but they're not much different from an all-inclusive Greek experience.
With us, you'll face nights under the African sky, keeping watch by the campfire amidst all the wild sounds of the night bush – an unforgettable experience that will make you more confident and resilient to everyday stressors. Here, you'll see what traits and skills we, as Homo sapiens, developed to survive in the beautiful savanna. Dont worry - most of the time you sleep in cozy bed in a comfortable tent.
Transit Time
Many travel agencies offer multi-day trips between Namibia, South Africa and Victoria Falls, where you spend 50% of your time in transit.
With us, you don't waste time traveling. You immerse yourself 100% in the bush, away from civilization, for 10 days, starting with a flight over the Okavango Delta just after arriving in Maun.
Safari Duration & Experience
Regular safari often means crowded, noisy tourists just wanting a quick photo before moving on.
With us, you'll experience 6-8 hours of safari daily, including night safaris and bush walks with experienced, certified guides who are armed for safety and can access areas untrained guides cannot.
Safety First Approach
Expert Guidance
All activities are conducted under the strict supervision of experienced safari guides and survival experts, ensuring a safe learning environment.
Situational Awareness
ituational Awareness and Threat Assessment directly relates bush observations to personal safety. This teaches participants to be more aware of their surroundings and potential threats – an invaluable skill in any environment. It also highlights an individual's impact on group safety, which enhances teamwork and responsibility.
Risk Mitigation
Learning practical skills such as navigating the bush without equipment, basic 4x4 vehicle operation, and understanding animal behavior inherently reduces risk by increasing competence and preparedness.
Emergency Protocol
Understanding safety protocols and recognizing the impact of group cohesion and secure communication on safety will help you boys mature and impress your fathers (and any future dates back home).
Schedule & Contact Information
We offer 11 days (10 nights) of intense safari for the price of a boring trip to crowded, fancy places. Here, you'll immerse yourself in the wilderness under the watchful eye of the best guides.
